‘Opening August 2026’: Teaser posters go up in Queensgate’s new Ink & Ember shop ahead of grand opening
The new book shop will also feature a cafe
Teaser posters have gone up in Queensgate Shopping Centre ahead of the grand opening of its new independent book shop and cafe.
Ink & Ember is set to open its doors on the centre’s lower mall this August, replacing the former Venom clothing shop.
The business, which launched in Stamford last April, is owned by Peterborough-born businesswoman Lauren Lovett.

The new Peterborough shop will be known as ‘The Burrow’ and have a Wes Anderson-style theme.
Much like its sister site in Stamford, the new Queensgate shop will also operate a 20-seat cafe and run creative workshops.
Ink & Ember will become Queensgate’s newest business when it opens next month, arriving a matter of weeks after coffee shop Jamaica Blue opened on the upper mall.
Earlier this week owner Lauren told customers that work to renovate the Queensgate unit is now underway, with paints purchased and floor-plans chosen.
Speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph in May, Lauren said: “The Burrow will lean into a boutique hotel theme with lots of hidden nooks and crannies, selfie opportunities and a stunning cafe.
“It’s going to be a real feast for the eyes, and that’s what we pride ourselves on with all our stores.”
All roles for the new Queensgate shop have been filled after hundreds of applications were received.
