On Friday (February 26) at 8.43am, one crew from Stanground fire station was called to rescue a bird trapped on Viersen Platz, Peterborough

Firefighters arrived to find a pigeon stuck in netting on the fourth floor of the outside of a building.

Using a 13.5 metre ladder, firefighters released the bird, before it was checked over by an RSPCA officer at the scene and released into the wild.

The crew returned to their station by 9.20am.
