They have also launched their own blog with tips on ‘Candy Chemistry Projects.’ These give parents a list of ingredients required to make a series of candy related projects with their children while they are spending so much time at home together.

Laura and Frazer are also keen to give back to the community in Peterborough and have so far this month given out around 200 pick and mix treat bags to deserving key workers.

These include staff at the city’s vaccination centres, care homes in Stanground, staff at Woodston Primary School and paramedics at Peterborough City Hospital.

Laura said: “We began looking at options in the second lockdown in November when Frazer began to struggle for work. He has always wanted to start this kind of business though so we began planning and were able to launch in January and it has been really successful.

“We have received so much great support and we’ve just become listed on Amazon, which means we are now able to sell on their website.

“We wanted to do something to give deserving people a treat and give something to organisations who have given so much back to the community.

“I posted in the Coronaheroes Facebook group to ask people for some deserving causes and have had so many people make nominations, many for great causes so most people don’t even know about; it’s gone a bit crazy really and I’m going through all the comments at the moment.

“We had a good Valentine’s Day so that has allowed us to give more and we just want to do something nice for people that have done so much for others during all of this.”

Candy Lab UK are getting ready to launch their Mother’s Day and Easter ranges soon and to see their online shop, www.candylab.shop/.
