Chez, who regularly performs with High Point Players, spent four-and-a-half hours singing a medley of songs including fitting tributes such as ‘My Hero’ by Foo Fighters.

Chez said: “I wanted to help do something to raise money for the NHS. I’d seen a lot of friends who are musicians going live on Facebook and I considered doing a set online myself, then I thought it might be a way of raising money.

“Me and my sister came up with the idea of doing 72 songs, one for each year the NHS has been here. It’s 72 for the heroes in blue!”

Keeping the idea quiet for a while, Chez trained to make sure she could manage the sing-a-thon. Cutting out dairy and sugar, she warmed up each evening after her children went to bed to make sure she could achieve the entire stream. Dedicated to her cause, Chez, who suffers with alopecia (hair loss), shaved her head and wrote ‘NHS’ in blue paint on her head.

Within the first song she had raised £100 and more than £500 in the first 30 minutes. Despite having some technical difficulties and having to start a second stream, hundreds of viewers followed Chez to watch her finale.

Spurred on by all of the kind comments, Chez now hopes other musicians will follow suit and she hopes to help them and guide them through the process.
