Speaking to The Peterborough Telegraph, Ernest Hebblethwaite, Cain's dad, said: "We understand organisers have sought and been given police approval for the meet. On Saturday we ask that everyone respects the current social distancing safety and current guidelines and that above all you enjoy this as my son would have.

"Please, please drive safely, especially since the weather is changing now and roads are going to become more dangerous. I don’t want another family to lose a loved one the way my family has, especially in the run up to Christmas.

"My thoughts are still with the two people in the Toyota who are still in hospital with life changing injuries sustained in the collision and their family. I hope they get better soon."

At the car meeting, there will be a number of tributes paid to Cain.

Ernest said: "I am attending with Cain's Nan who has only left the house once since Cain's death, to thank people for all there support.

"We are also opening a book a condolence for people to pay their respects.

"The current total for the GoFundMe page is £4200, which is amazing and truly shows how much love there was for my son.

"We are releasing balloons at 8pm to remember Cains life.
