Jobs saved in Peterborough as fashion chain Peacocks is rescued

Jobs have been saved at a fashion retailer in Peterborough.

Collapsed clothing chain Peacocks, which has three outlets in Peterborough has been rescued after months of uncertainty.

The retailer has outlets in the city centre’s Bridge Street and in the Bretton Centre, Bretton, plus another at the Dobbies Garden Centre, in Phorpres Way, Cygnet Park, along with branches at Spalding, Huntingdon and Wisbech.

The company has been bought out of administration by a senior executive with backing from a consortium of international investors, it has been announced.

The action has saved 200 stores and 2,000 jobs nationally,
