Today a spokesman for the 48th Fighter Wing, based at RAF Lakenheath, said: “, I can confirm that we are continuing flying operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, for the collective defense of the U.S., U.K., and NATO alliance. Daily flying operations for the Liberty Wing have been reduced, but the ongoing training of aircrew and support personnel is critical to ensure the experience, training and qualifications necessary to maintain a ready force. Furthermore, all flying operations are conducted in accordance with Ministry of Defence and U.K. airspace regulations.”
