Farm shop near Peterborough offering 50 free packed lunches to families in need this week

A farm shop based at Tallington Lakes near Peterborough has offered to provide 50 free packed lunches to families in need on Friday (January 15).

Tallington Farm shop on Barholm Road, Stamford have made the offer to parents who are entitled to free school meals.

The lunches will include a ham or cheese sandwich, a packet of crisps, three pieces of fruit, a chocolate bar and a carton of juice and will be available to pick up from 11:30am on a first come, first serve basis.

The farm shop has been supporting their local community throughout the multiple lockdowns and in April, handed out around 70 free fruit and veg boxes to key workers.

A post on the Tallington Farm shop Facebook page said: “With everything that’s been in the news this week Tallington Farm Shop wants to help.❗ We don’t want to see any child go hungry through this pandemic.

“Therefore this Friday 15th January, Tallington are going to be offering 50️ free packed lunches for families to come and collect from the farm shop for their child or children. We will only be doing 50 so it will be done on a first come first serve basis.

“Times are hard for everyone at the moment and we try our best to help where we can. In the first lockdown we donated NHS boxes so we wanted to do something different to make sure we have helped a little in all areas.

“The lunches will be ready to collect from 11:30am this Friday and don’t forget there are only 50️⃣ so it is on a first come basis.

“Lunches will include: ️a ham or cheese sandwich, a packet of crisps,⭐️3 pieces of fruit, a chocolate bar and a carton of juice.

“Please spread the word to families who are in need and are struggling through the pandemic and who normally get free school meals. It’s so important we all support each other.”
