Environmental action is recognised

In order to achieve the award, Abbey College had to complete the first three steps on its Eco-School journey to Green Flag success.

The first step involved setting up an Eco-Committee of students who are passionate about the environment. The students in the committee, who are overseen by a teacher, are responsible for step two – an environmental review into the school.

In step three, students at the college created an action plan that is influenced by the environmental review. The action plan contains timescales, who is responsible for the actions and how topic actions will be monitored and evaluated.
