The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust said: “As the situation with coronavirus (Covid-19) continues to develop rapidly we have taken the very difficult decision, in line with national guidance, to stop all visiting of patients on CPFT wards and inpatient units.

“We can now only allow one visitor - an immediate family member or carer - in the exceptional circumstances listed below, until further notice:

“Any visitors may be expected to wear protective clothing, and anyone who has not been given permission to visit will be asked to leave the site.

“All visitors must comply with hand-washing and infection control instructions to protect patients and staff.

“If you have coronavirus symptoms you must not enter any CPFT site/building. If staff members suspect you may have symptoms you will be asked to leave.”

Meanwhile, Family Voice Peterborough, which supports children with disabilities or additional needs, is running a survey for Peterborough parent carers to learn how they are coping during the current pandemic, and what support is needed for them and their families.

Responses will be collated, added to a report and passed to the city council to enable it to put in place what support it can.

The survey can be completed at: https://forms.gle/m6kocFCia57ydqya7.

Family Voice Peterborough has also set up a hotline and email address for parent carers during the current crisis.
