“The people of Peterborough come in different shapes and sizes - come from different parts of the world - and even speak different languages. But we are one city - and we have proved that again.

“There’s some who think this spirit is not what it once was.

“But the coronavirus emergency has shown this spirit is not only alive and well - it is stronger than ever.

“We are recognising the extra effort some in Peterborough have made to make sure we get through this as one city.

“Those who have gone the extra mile to look after their neighbours, the vulnerable or socially isolating. Those who have dedicated their businesses to serving the city in this difficult time.”

Mr Bristow said all those nominated will receive some form of recognition from him and they will also be featured in the PT.

The winners will be given a tour of the House of Commons and afternoon tea with Paul Bristow when coronavirus restrictions are finally lifted.Winners will be decided by the judges - Paul Bristow MP and Mark Edwards, Editor of the Peterborough Telegraph.

PT Editor Mark Edwards said: “We have featured many people doing amazing work and volunteering in a variety of ways during the crisis and we are delighted to support our MP in making sure they get the recognition they deserve.”
