Coronavirus: More patients die at Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke hospitals

The number of deaths at Peterborough City Hospital has risen to 25, while the number at Hinchingbrooke Hospital has risen to 19, bringing the total at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust to 44 since March 24.
All patients are said to have had pre-existing health conditions, with their ages ranging from 30 to 90.

Hide AdTrust chief executive Caroline Walker said: “I can confirm that, sadly, a total of 44 patients being cared for in our trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths.
“There have been 19 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 25 at Peterborough City Hospital. Patients were aged 30 to 90 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
A first patient with coronavirus at a hospital run by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, which runs community and mental health services, has also been recorded.

Hide AdTracy Dowling, chief executive, said: “We can confirm that, sadly, a patient aged 44 who had underlying health conditions has passed away at a community physical health ward at our trust. She had tested positive for Covid-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
The latest available figures from Public Health England show 99 people in Peterborough have so far tested positive for coronavirus.
NHS England said today (Saturday) that a further 823 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 8,937.
