Contractors awarded place on £22m framework to support disabled people in Peterborough
Fourteen contractors have been awarded a place on a multi-million pound framework to support disabled people in Peterborough.
The Care and Repair Open Framework, which has a value of £22 million over eight years, will help the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) adaptations for people across the city.
These adaptations include extensions, internal alterations, level access showering facilities and associated works in domestic properties, and the installation of minor aids and adaptations in domestic properties.
Peterborough City Council has a statutory duty to meet the needs of a disabled person, once that need has been identified.

The purpose of the aids and adaptations work is to assist and support elderly, vulnerable and disabled local residents (adults and children) to live independently.
Procured contractors will deliver the DFG adaptations on behalf of the council.
The DFG funding is provided through a combination of central government grants and council contribution.
Councillor Neil Boyce, cabinet member for adult services, told a meeting: “Following engagement with the market, the framework has been designed to increase opportunities for local contractors and ensure the council can continue to deliver timely, high quality adaptations that help residents of all ages live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.”
On August 25, council cabinet members approved the award of framework agreements to the following contractors:
