The funding will enable Women’s Aid Peterborough to deliver a child-focused programme of support - including drop-in sessions and play activities - to children and young people.

Carole Epsom, service manager at Women's Aid Peterborough, said: “This funding will enable us to help vulnerable children and young people to recover from incredibly difficult early experiences, laying a firm foundation of emotional wellbeing for a positive future. Thank you BBC Children in Need.”

Simon Antrobus, chief executive of BBC Children in Need, said: “During these exceptional times I am delighted to be awarding funding which will positively impact young lives when they need it most. An enormous thank you must go to our incredible supporters, without whom grants like this simply wouldn’t be possible.”

Across Peterborough, BBC Children in Need is currently funding four projects to a value of £273,000.
