The academy ran the campaign in February to raise funds for the TKMaxx national charity partner, Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens.

Each bag of donated items could raise up to £25 for the charity, making a potential total of over £1,500 to help this great cause.

Rob Grover, Principal at Nene Park Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students for taking part in such a worthy and charitable cause.

“As an academy community, we felt that the half term holiday would be the perfect opportunity for an early spring clean, to not only recycle unwanted items but also to help raise money for this excellent charity.

A special thanks to the local community and parents for their continuous support and encouragement.”

The initiative was a whole school event, and teachers at Nene Park Academy decided to run it as a Superleague competition between the academy’s houses, to see which house could collect the highest number of
bags.

Brunel House took the crown by collecting 24 bags.
