​Building industry supplier Toolstation has opened its second store in Peterborough.

​The retailer, which provides a range of tools and materials to the construction industry, has created seven jobs with the new outlet at the Bourges View business park in Maskew Avenue.

Bosses say the store will be open seven days a week, from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm Saturdays, and 9am to 4pm Sundays.

Store Manager Santony Francis said: “We are pleased to have opened the new store in Peterborough, helping support local tradespeople, DIYers and homebuilders with tools and more.

"Our knowledgeable team is committed to providing local customers with a reliable and convenient service for the essentials they need to tackle any job.”

The new Maskew Avenue store is the second to open in Peterborough, with an existing store located at Whitehead Drove, Fengate.

A spokesperson said: “This will further help trade and DIY customers tackle any job over autumn and winter, with access to over 25,000 trade quality products from leading brands including Milwaukee, Makita, Wessex, Kärcher, Leyland and more.”

He said that first time users of the Toolstation App will get a 10 per cent saving on their first purchase, which can be used on top of any current deals with the offer running to November 5.

Tradespeople using the store will be able to benefit from saving an extra five per cent on every purchase when opening a Trade Account.

Toolstation is among the first retailers to open at the £30 million Bourges View business park, which has already seen the opening of drive-thrus for American hamburger giant Wendy’s and coffee specialist Costa.

The park, which was developed by Chancerygate, is made up of 21 trade counter and industrial warehouse units, ranging in size between 2,766 and 34,368 square feet.
