It’s said that a photo is worth a thousand words, which is why we owe a great deal of gratitude to those with the foresight to capture the changing face of Peterborough on camera.
Without such photos, we would be unable to compare and contrast how the city has changed over the years.
For the last four decades, legendary Peterborough photographer Chris Porsz has captured the city’s changing face on camera, with his work now proving an invaluable resource for comparing and contrasting the 1980s right up to present day.

As a street photographer, much of Chris’ work focuses on capturing the faces of those who make the city what it is today.
In the 1980s, he did a cracking job of photographing the people of Peterborough as they went about their daily lives.
From streetcleaners and punks to schoolchildren and shoppers, Chris’ incredible archive captures a moment in time that will never be forgotten.
