Looking Back: Intrigued by the mystery man
I always wondered who was the mystery man and in my imagination, a Scottish tourist and hiker, photographing (camera on bench) all the Cathedrals from his book 'Cathedrals of England.' Perhaps he walked or hitched it!
The 'English Plane' saplings were planted in 1982 and now provide a welcome shady canopy in hotter times.
After the cathedral he probably popped into the Tourist Information shop in Minister Precincts and 'Mr Curly Wurly’ looks out from the Bridge Street shop window in December 2012. Now tourist info is in the museum and gone digital and I say bring it back to the town centre! What say you?
