Pedal power drives fundraiser
The staff members and residents from Anchor’s Clayburn Court care home, in Clayburn Road, took it in turns to cycle on a static bike to raise money for the home while it works towards dementia care accreditation called Anchor Inspires.
Residents had a choice of using the small foot pedals alongside the bike or to have a go on the spin bike itself.

Jess Morton, activity co-ordinator at Clayburn Court, said: “The event was a big success. As a team we cycled exactly 450 miles, which was 100 miles further than our aim.
“We also dressed up in onesies and silly outfits to help keep people’s spirits up.
“We’re very thankful to local charity Vivacity for donating a static bike for us to use and to all those who sponsored us.”
