MP opens new pavilion

North West Cambridgeshire MP Shailesh Vara opened Stilton Parish Council's new pavilion which will accommodate Stilton Primary School and local football clubs Stilton United Colts and Stilton United.

The new facility was made possible thanks to a £75,184 grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund and a £50,000 grant from the Premier League.

Mr Vara said: “It was a great pleasure to officially open the pavilion. I’m particularly pleased that as well as being used for sporting purposes, the building has facilities for many other community events.

“This pavilion is also a great tribute to community spirit and a shining example of a community getting together to successfully build something that will be of enormous benefit to local people for decades to come. A lot of individuals have made this possible through sheer hard work and determination, and they deserve huge credit, as do the organisations and individuals who helped to fund the project.”
