A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after an incident in Peterborough.

Medics including crews from the Magpas air ambulance and the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) were called to Hampton Vale near the lakes at about 3.40pm yesterday.

A spokesman for EEAS said: “We were called to the Hampton Vale area yesterday (23 June) shortly before 3.40pm after receiving reports that a male had been injured in a motorbike accident. We sent an ambulance, ambulance officer, and three hazardous area response teams, along with the Magpas air ambulance. Crews treated one patient at the scene before transporting him by air to Peterborough City Hospital for further assessment and care.”
