Man cut free from car after crash with HGV in Bretton

A man was taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a lorry in Peterborough.

Crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to a road traffic collision in Bretton Way, Bretton at 1.17pm yesterday, Monday August 1.

Firefighters stabilised the scene before rescuing one casualty using specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle.

A rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew attended. They treated a man in his 40s with neck and back pain.

He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or serious.
