Fire crews tackle shed blaze with smoke seen in Peterborough city centre

Firefighters were this afternoon tackling a shed blaze which was believed to be the cause of smoke in the city centre.

The fire was in Angus Court, West Town, with crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground called to the incident at 2.38pm today.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “Firefighters arrived to find a prefabricated building well alight.”

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
