Fire crews rescue pony from water

Fire crews came to the rescue of a pony that had fallen into a channel in the Fens.

Crews from Wisbech, March and Dogsthorpe were called to the rescue off the A47 in Guyhirn on Thursday, March 3 at 2.42pm.

The animal was stuck in a river in about 5ft of water located near the junction with the A141.

Specially trained in-water firefighters used animal rescue equipment to safely rescue the large pony.
