Fire crews attended three arson attacks in and around Peterborough last night.

At 6.14pm on Thursday, March 2, one crew from Whittlesey was called to a fire on Welland Road in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find two mopeds on fire on Spinney Park. They extinguished the fire and returned to their station by 7.45pm.

The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Then at 10.37pm one crew from Thorney was called to a fire on Station Road in Thorney.

Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their station by 11.25pm.

At 2.53am on Friday March 3 one crew from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to a fire on Padholme Road in Eastfield, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a shed on fire that was spreading to two cars. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet.

The crews returned to their stations by 4.15am.

The cause of the fire was again deliberate.
