Large fly-tips at Peterborough grot spot to be investigated

Rubbish has been dumped in and around Norwood Lane in Paston Ridings which for many years has been dogged by huge amounts of fly-tipping.
This is despite bollards being introduced to try and improve the problem.

Hide AdFly-tipping has increased in Peterborough during the coronavirus pandemic, and these latest incidents will now be investigated for clues to identify the offenders.


One of the fly-tips was on Norwood Lane, while another was nearby on Newborough Road.
A spokesperson for Peterborough City Council said: “We take all reports of fly-tipping seriously as it significantly impacts on local communities. These incidents are being investigated by officers to see if evidence can be obtained to take enforcement action against those responsible and the sites are now in the process of being cleared.
“We would encourage anyone who witnesses fly-tipping to report this to us by calling 01733 747474 or online at www.peterborough.gov.uk. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents of their duty of care regarding waste.
