The man made off and when the victim entered her house she realised her handbag was missing.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries and grazing to her left elbow and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.

Police officers were able to trace the handbag via an app on the victim’s mobile phone, which was in the bag, and it was found under a parked van in Crosshall Road.

The handbag was sitting on top of a blue coat, a grey hooded top and a red hat; which police believe may have belonged to the attacker. The victim’s cream woollen hat and suede gloves were also found next to the van.
