Woman in court for possessing knife and £300 alcohol thefts in Peterborough

A woman is due in court today (Monday October 19) charged with stealing alcohol worth more than £300 from Peterborough shops and being in possession of a knife.

Lorraine Williams, 48, was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday 18 October) following an instance of shoplifting at Tesco Extra in the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre.

She has since been charged with five counts of theft from a shop, namely Tesco Extra in Hampton, Tesco in Werrington, Co-op in Ortongate, between June 13 and October 17. This includes alcohol worth £311 and other goods.

Williams, of no fixed address, has also been charged with being in possession of a knife in a public place and has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today.
