VIDEO: Top Peterborough cop vows to Work continues to disrupt and dismantle drug rings after 10 arrested in city raids

One of Peterborough's top cops has vowed to continue to crackdown on drug related crime following a large scale operation involving more than 100 officers.

Speaking after the series of arrests on Wednesday, Area Commander for Peterborough, Superintendent Mel Dales said: “Today, officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit have carried out a number of warrants across the city and surrounding areas as part of work to disrupt and dismantle drugs networks.

“10 people have been arrested in connection with the supply of cocaine and are currently in custody at Huntingdon Police Station.

“I hope this sends a clear message that the supply and production of drugs will not be tolerated in our county – we will do all that we can to put a stop to these ill-gotten gains and protect our communities.”

She added: “Drugs are a key concern for communities across in Peterborough and today’s warrants should serve as reassurance as to how seriously we take the use 
and supply of illegal substances.”

“We will continue to work with partners including ERSOU to address local concerns and I would urge people to continue to report suspicious behaviour.”
