Two Peterborough men charged with attempting to steal bike in city centre

Two men have been charged with attempting to steal a bicycle and other offences in Peterborough after their arrest yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 8 July).

Quentin Hyland, 37, and Robert McColl, 27, were arrested in Long Causeway at about 4pm in connection with the attempted theft of bicycle.

Hyland has been charged with attempting to steal a bicycle and making threats to damage property, specifically Garden House in Wheel Yard.

McColl has been charged with attempting to steal a bicycle and theft of electrical goods worth £121 from Asda.

Both men, of no fixed address, have been remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (14 July).
