The men are among eight to have been taken into custody after the 24-year-old victim was left with a gunshot wound following an incident on Friday evening.

One of the Peterborough men - a 30-year-old - was arrested after armed police raided a home in Willonholt, Ravensthorpe, on Sunday morning.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH, while a 26-year-old man from Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Six others have also been arrested in various locations across Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, with three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Lincolnshire Police, who have not confirmed where the incident took place in Spalding, revealed this morning there had been an eighth arrest.

The force has now revealed which offences the seven arrested men and one arrested woman are suspected to have committed, while also confirming that the victim was definitely shot having not been completely sure at the start of the investigation.

Officers were first called to the scene at 9.20pm on Friday by a motorist who took the victim to hospital where they remain.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 436 of February 28.

. Possession of Class B drug.

A 22-year-old from the Boston area has been arrested on suspicion of:

. Assisting an offender.

A 40-year-old woman from the Spalding area has been arrested on suspicion of:

. Assisting an offender

. Conspiracy to commit GBH.

A 26-year-old man from the Peterborough area has been arrested on suspicion of:

. Wounding with intent.

A 30-year-old man from the Peterborough area has been arrested on suspicion of:
