Armed police raided a home in Peterborough over the weekend after a man suffered a gunshot wound.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police executed a warrant at Willonholt, Ravensthorpe, on Sunday morning.

The raid was linked to an incident on Friday evening in Spalding which saw a 24-year-old man suffer a suspected gunshot wound.

Eight people have now been arrested over the incident, including a 30-year-old man from the Peterborough area after the raid in Ravensthorpe.

They are all currently in custody.

The force, which is not disclosing any more information on where the incident happened, said they were called at 9.20pm on Friday.

A spokesperson said: “This was reported to us by a motorist who took the victim to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.”

A 50-year-old man was arrested over the incident, then the following morning a second man was arrested.

After that two more men and a woman were arrested after a warrant was executed in Brewsters Road in Boston on Sunday, then two men from the Huntingdon area were arrested.

Now, a man has been arrested after the raid in Ravensthorpe.

The seven men arrested are aged: 50, 23, 25, 20,22, 26, 30.

The woman arrested is aged 40.
