Two Peterborough men arrested after double stabbing on New Year's Day

Two men have been arrested after a double stabbing in the early hours of New Year's Day.

At 1.47am, police received a report of a 52-year-old man suffering from a stab would in Shortfen, Peterborough.

Officers were then called at 1.50am with reports of a second man with stab injuries in Brewerne.

Both men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 52-year-old man from Peterborough has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

The second man, also from Peterborough, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in hospital.

The two incidents are being linked and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection at this time.
