Two Peterborough men arrested after double stabbing bailed

Two men arrested following a double stabbing in Peterborough on New Year's Day have been bailed by police

At 1.47am on January 1, police received a report of a 52-year-old man suffering from a stab would in Shortfen, Peterborough.

Officers were then called at 1.50am with reports of a second man, aged 31 with stab injuries in Brewerne, Peterborough.

Both men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 52-year-old man from Peterborough has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The second man, also from Peterborough, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Today a police spokeswoman said both men had now been bailed.
