Three men in court on weapons charges after attempted Peterborough burglary

Police were called at 6.40am on Sunday May 1 with reports of the attempted burglary and arrested three men in connection with the incident later that evening.

The following day, Monday May 2, Faustas Mackevicius, 21, of Whittlesey Road in Stanground, Peterborough, was charged with attempt aggravated burglary, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, affray, possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and three counts of possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device.

Aidias Levan, 25, of Francis Road in Birmingham, was charged with attempt aggravated burglary, three counts of possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device, affray and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Erikas Idzelis, 28, of Francis Road in Birmingham, was charged with attempt aggravated burglary, three counts of possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device, affray and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

All appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on May 3 and have since been remanded in police custody to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on May 31.
