Teenage boys charged over Peterborough stabbing

Two teenage boys have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a man in Dogsthorpe earlier this month.

The 16 and 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent following the incident in Elmfield Close on May 6.

The 17-year-old has also been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries but is now recovering.

Both boys appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday) and have been released on bail to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on May 27.

Four other arrests were also made in connection with the stabbing. An 18-year-old man from Orton Malborne who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder is due to answer police bail on June 1.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested on May 8 on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), however, they have both since been released with no further action.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested on May 8 on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released under investigation.
