Second man charged with murder in connection with death in Peterborough

Alvaro Vilhete, 30, was initially arrested on June 13 on suspicion of murder but was released on conditional bail.

Vilhete, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody and appeared at Peterborough Crown Court today (July 17) where it was confirmed he will face a charge of murder.

Officers were called at 9.42am on Friday, June 12 to reports of a stabbing in Tilton Court.

Dainius Kasiliauskis, 27, of Buckminster Place, Welland, died at the scene.

Leam Smith, 19, of Branston Rise, Dogsthorpe, was charged with murder on June 14 and is remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on October 5.

A 45-year-old woman from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but has since been released with no further action.
