Police shut home in Woodston to stop drug related anti-social behaviour

A home in Peterborough has been partially closed for three months due to concerns about anti-social behaviour and drug activity.

The partial closure order was granted by Huntingdon Magistrates' Court following a successful application by Peterborough’s South Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The order, which is in place until 3 November, covers 10 Selby Close, Woodston, and prohibits all access, with the exception of two tenants, emergency service and representatives from Cross Keys Homes.

Failure to comply with the order is a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment for up to three months, a fine, or both.

The action came as a result of prolonged drug-related anti-social behaviour linked to the address.

PC Steph Williams said: “Local residents have been subjected to persistent drug-related anti-social behaviour linked to this address for more than 18 months.

“This behaviour has had a significant impact on people in the area and I hope this closure order gives them some respite.”
