Natasa Holubova (40) was caught using a blue badge belonging to a man while she was parked in a disabled space at the Car Haven Car Park on June 19 last year.

Officers invited Ms Holubova, of Warbon Avenue, Peterborough to attend interviews under caution but she failed to attend any of them.

She appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court last month, where she pleaded guilty to fraud.

She was fined £40, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £50.

In court she said she was injured and needed a crutch.

A spokesman for Peterborough City Council said; “Abuse of the blue badge scheme is not fair on genuine badge holders who need to park close to places they are visiting.

“A blue badge is for the sole use of the person named on it and must only be displayed if the badge holder is travelling in the vehicle as a driver or passenger.

“Regular checks are made on blue badges in the city and their usage to ensure that they are not stolen, forged or being misused and as this case has shown, offenders will be prosecuted if caught.”
