Peterborough man arrested following robbery at city convenience shop

A Peterborough man has been arrested after a robbery at a One Stop shop in the city.

The 33-year old man was arrested in Chestnut Avenue yesterday morning, Wednesday August 29, in connection with a robbery at One Stop in Saltersgate on Tuesday, August 28.

The arrest followed an incident at the shop in which a man was stopped by staff on suspicion of shoplifting, at which point he indicated he had a weapon and left the premises without paying for items.

The 33-year-old has been bailed to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on September 26, 2018.
