Peterborough man arrested after reports car owner threatened with firearm

A Peterborough man has been arrested after reports the owner of a car was threatened with a firearm.

The incident started in Wantage, near Oxford on Sunday.

A Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police spokesman said: "A car was stolen after an allegation the owner was threatened with a firearm."

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said; Thames Valley Police received a report of a theft of a car at around 9.40am on Sunday (14/2) from Wantage.

“Later that day, the car was recovered in Peterborough and a 25-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested in connection with the incident by Cambridgeshire Police.

“An investigation is ongoing.”
