Christopher Green was driving a Renault Kangoo on the Nene Parkway on May 16 this year when he was witnessed by police blocking the emergency vehicle.

Green (35) of Maskew Avenue, Peterborough, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court last week, where he pleaded guilty to driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.

The court was told Green was witnessed by police driving in close proximity to an ambulance with a blue light on in the right hand lane. The vehicle continued in the right hand lane keeping the ambulance from overtaking any upcoming traffic. When questioned about the standard of his driving, the driver stated he had not seen the blue lights on the ambulance.

Green was fined £80, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £55. He had three points put on his licence.
