Peterborough community centre damaged after break-in

A community centre was damaged after a break-in during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Nene Valley Community Centre in Candy Street, Woodston, had football goals broken and its irrigation system damaged according to the Peterborough Football and Sports Development Foundation, the charity which runs the site.

A post on the centre’s Facebook page added: “We are really disappointed to have to inform you that Nene Valley Community Centre has been the victim of a break in and criminal damage over this bank holiday weekend. We have reported it to the police, and its currently being investigated. However, if anyone saw anything suspicious over the weekend please let us know.

“In the meantime, the community centre is still closed as per the guidelines and therefore the centre and it grounds are off limits as it is private property. Any unauthorised entry will be reported to the Police.
