Peterborough blaze spreads to houses and fences as arsonists start fire in garage

At 4.13pm on Monday (8) crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground fire stations and the north roaming fire engine were called to a fire on Buckle Street in Eastgate, Peterborough.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a garage that was spreading to nearby fencing and houses. "Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 5.50pm.

"The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
