Murder detectives searching Peterborough garages in hunt for missing Bernadette

Detectives hunting for missing Peterborough teenager Bernadette Walker are searching three garages in Peterborough today.

Bernadette (17) was last seen alive on July 20 in the city, and at the weekend police launched a ‘no-body’ murder investigation.

Her parents, Sarah Walker, 37, and Scott Walker, 50, both of Century Square in Millfield, Peterborough have been charged with murder,

Officers were seen at Century Square over the weekend - and today more searches are being carried out in Peterborough and the surrounding area.

Late this morning scenes of crime officers arrived at three garages on Churchfield Road, Walton, Peterborough, where searches are being carried out in an attempt to find out what happened to Bernadette.

The three garages, with wooden doors, have been cordoned off by offices as forensic searches of he building take place,

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said officers were also searching open land in Cowbitt as part of the investigation.

Sarah Walker and Scott Walker are set to appear at Peterborough Crown Court tomorrow for a preliminary hearing. They are expected to appear via video link in front of Judge Sean Enright.
