Man charged with drug, immigration and firearm offences after armed police raid at Peterborough home

A man has been charged with a series of offences after armed police raided a Peterborough home.

Two men were arrested on Friday when police raided homes at addresses in Woodcote Close and Hawksbill Way, Peterborough.

Today a Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “Danius Cechavicius, 39, of Hawksbill Way, Peterborough was charged with possession of cannabis, seeking to enter / leave the UK by deceptive means, possessing a firearm and concealing criminal property.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 19 April.

“Mantautas Simkus, 37, of Woodcote Close, Peterborough was charged with producing cannabis.

“He has been released on police bail until 5 May.”

Road closures were put in place while police executed the warrant on Friday morning.
