Lorry driver arrested in Peterborough on suspicion of drink driving after giving reading more than three times over limit

A lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after giving a breathalyser reading more than three times over the limit.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire, Cambridegshire and Heartfordshire (BCH) Road Policing said: "HGV stopped on the A47, Peterborough weaving all over the road in the fog. Driver could barely stand up and has given a roadside breath sample of 155!! Evidential reading in custody of 124! Driver to be remanded and put before the courts in the morning."

The driver is 51-year-old man from Spain and remains in police custody.

The legal limit for drink driving is 35 micrgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
