Last month saw the launch of a new city-wide campaign called ‘Peterborough says no more’ which has been backed by prominent employers and leading figures in the city.

And learning how to spot the signs of domestic abuse is “so important,” according to Detective Inspector Dave Savill from Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Protecting Vulnerable People Department.

“Recognising the signs of Domestic Abuse is so important – many people don’t realise that they are being abused within their relationship but colleagues or supervisors may notice a change in behaviour, such as the employee becoming withdrawn or defensive and this may indicate that something isn’t quite right.

“If colleagues and supervisors are aware of what to look out for and how to access support, they can help to protect their colleagues from further abuse.

“The campaign is starting to gain prominence in the Peterborough area and the more businesses that come on board, the wider the knowledge hub of the Peterborough community will be.

“Having large companies or organisations involved in the project is really important as they are involved in so many areas of the community and I would urge others to sign up to support the campaign.”
