Here are the most serious offenders. This is not a list of all offenders jailed, but of those who have committed such serious offences that Cambridgeshire Police have deemed it worthy to release their custody photographs to the public.
1. Melanie Wright and Barry Chapman
Melanie Wright (48) and Barry Chapman (34) beat Wright’s husband to death following an argument. Police were notified after a neighbours reported a disturbance. A post mortem examination revealed that Mr Wright died as a result of traumatic head and facial injuries. The pair were both found guilty of murder. They will be sentenced on Friday 11 December. 2. Tomas Lazdauskas and Donatas Umbrasas
Tomas Lazdauskas (24) and Donatas Umbrasas (27) invited Mindaugas Arlaukas (28) to Lazdauskas’ home, where Arlaukas was beaten to death with items including a metal pole. The two men transported Arlaukas’ body to a nearby industrial estate, where they tried to destroy evidence of the murder by setting the body on fire. Lazdauskas was not found guilty of murder, but previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Umbrasas admitted murder at a previous hearing. The two are due to be sentenced on 18 December. 3. Jamie Maschinsky
Jamie Maschinsky (31) was arrested in September 2019, interviewed and charged with four offences of sexual assault against a girl under 13. He pleaded not guilty and following his trial, which commenced on Monday 23 November, he was found guilty of two of the offences. He has been sentenced to four years in prison. 4. Mahmoud Shrara
Mahmoud Shrara (21) struck a man over the head with a brick following an argument. The victim suffered from a fractured skull, as well as bleeding and swelling of the brain. He had to be placed in an induced coma for more than a week to recover. When Shrara was arrested, he was found to be in possession of a lock knife and class A drugs.
