Coronavirus: 8 times social distancing has been ignored in Peterborough and Fenland after Boris Johnson ordered lockdown

Despite warnings of people dying and the NHS being overwhelmed, people are still ignoring rules on social distancing and when they are allowed to leave their homes.

Cambridgeshire police has highlighted a number of examples since Monday evening when Boris Johnson imposed new restrictions on people’s activities designed to stop the spread of the coronavirus and save people’s lives, while photographers and readers have also captured their own examples. Police have taken to social media to warn people that they face fines if they continue to flout the rules, while a police spokeswoman told the Peterborough Telegraph: “Legislation (allowing fines) will come into force from Thursday. In the meantime police officers will use their communication skills to impress on people the importance of following the new rules.” The PT will continue to highlight these examples until the message hits home.
